Teacher Wardrobe: Aimee Verapinto

By Samhita Holla and Kira Yurchenko

We interviewed Aimee Verapinto, a fashion icon and Spanish teacher, about her style and taste in clothing. Here are some of her views!

Describe your style in a few words.

I would say my style is Bohemian with a touch of hippie.

How do you plan your outfits?

I don’t spend a lot of time planning my outfits because my outfits are based on comfort. I also love to throw on accessories, so I’m big on earrings, shoes, or scarves.

What is a go-to item in your closet?

On the weekends, lounge pants and sweats. Weekdays, my go-to item is jeans and scarfs.

Where do you get your clothes from?

A lot of my clothes are hand-me-downs from my sister. My daughter and I also tend to share clothes. If I had to go shopping, I would say Marshalls, Costco, and other online stores.

What fashion trend do you love?

I love how the 2000’s style is starting to come around, especially boot-cut jeans.

What are some fashion tips you have?

Go with your gut! Simple is more, and you can always spice up an outfit with a lovely accessory. Shoes are definitely really important.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

I just feel honored that you guys think I dress cool!
