After an amazing season, cross country sadly is coming to an end. This year, with a new coach, a former teacher at Westmont Christian, Moncada, the team only improved. This year, the team ran three league meets at Montgomery Hill, a treacherous course, two invitationals, and one B-Val race, and only a few advanced to CCS. Jaden Kanazawa, , a senior on the team, shared that this year’s freshmen were very speedy and many set huge PRs on one of the toughest courses, Crystal Springs. However, sadly, the team had to say goodbye to seven seniors: Alex Chen, Adrian Ketterer, Jaden Kanazawa, Caden Kanazawa, Jake Oderio, Keisuke Suzuki, and Polina Chistyakova. On the other hand, their legacy leaves room for improvement for next year’s team! Jaden Kanazawa, hopes that next year both the girls and boys teams can make it to CCS, and he leaves an inspirational quote for next year’s runners: “ It’s what you do before the season starts that makes you a champion. #DoSummerTraining.”
