Thankful 4 Absolute Cinema

By Logan Mendelson

The cinema is my church. Cinelux theatres have a location down the street from my house and routine visits allow me to partake in the latest stories fresh off the reels. Here, I’m introduced to classics through their “flashback cinema” events and I bond with my friends and family with each shared theatrical experience. I find it impossible not to hyperfixate on every cinematic excursion, spending weeks admiring and pondering the craftsmanship behind a single film. I live vicariously through the silver screen.

With the public shift to the convenience of online streaming in the modern world, it’s easy to ignore major releases and wait for them to come straight to your home. Big new movies, however, sometimes necessitate the big screen. Major releases contain striking visuals or masterful moments that deserve to be viewed with the utmost respect. The moviegoing adventure should be cherished. I continue to adore the cinema for bringing me closer to my loved ones and immersing me in wondrous worlds. As my corkboard of ticket stubs grows, I think back fondly of each visit to the movie theatre, nostalgic for the stories that have impacted me through their phenomenal display on the big screen.
