Lifeline, Westmont’s Blood Drive efforts

By Mason Vargas

Westmont High School’s recent blood drive, organized by the Blood Drive Club in partnership with the Stanford Blood Center, was a tremendous success. The event aimed to collect 82 units of blood, and the Westmont community went above and beyond—donating 84 units, reaching 102% of the goal. A total of 55 students and 23 adults participated, including 76 first-time donors. These donations have the potential to help up to 252 patients in need. The Blood Drive Club and advisor Chris Haskett extended their thanks to all who supported the event, especially the staff members who donated. Donating blood is an easy yet powerful way to make a life-saving impact, and Westmont’s turnout showed how much can be achieved when a community comes together. The next blood drive is scheduled for Tuesday, March 31, 2026
