Yer a Wizard, Harry

By Madeline Tanaka

Ever since I read the Harry Potter series in third grade, I’ve been obsessed with the books and movies, despite the fact that I have yet to finish watching them all. Oftentimes, I watch snippets of movies when they’re showing on live television channels, except most of the time I catch them when they’re halfway done. But alas, I will still be writing about the perfect Harry Potter movie marathon day in which I hope to one day partake in.

Our day starts bright and early at 5:30 AM when we start Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, which spans two hours and 37 minutes. Following the first movie, we will have breakfast with the Dursleys, which consists of eggs—sunny side up—, bacon, hash browns, and sausages. The perfect English breakfast.

At 8:10 AM, we will begin the second movie Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, showing for two hours and 38 minutes, where we meet Dobby and Tom Riddle. Taking a quick butter beer break, we get right back into the marathon, diving into Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, dare I say one of the best movies in the series.

Proceeding the third installment of the Harry Potter series, we will rip open our candy from the world renowned Honeydukes Express sweets trolley. We will begin Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire at around 12:00 PM, feasting on butter beer flavored popcorn. YUM!

Then, we will go into a seven and a half hour speed run of the last three movies of the series, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix being my personal favorite. We’ll quench our everlasting thirst with a pint of butter beer and eat away at a delicious charcuterie board.

To end our long 19 hour day, we will cut our “Happee Birthdae” cake from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. Thanks for sticking with me on our Halloween Harry Potter Rerun!
