Lemonade Reviews

By Josie Barker

Continuing my food review lifestyle, today I went out and bought quite a bountiful amount of lemonade. My goal: to find the absolute best lemonade. Did I find it? No, not at all. I got a variety of tummy aches, and now my fridge is completely stocked up for weeks; however, I am slightly closer to finding the best lemon-infused drink ever. In this article, I will be reviewing some lemonade brands in hopes of giving an honest insight on these companies’ lemony liquids.

Side note: My opinion may be slightly defective, considering I had tonsillitis while trying these sour citrus juices.

Signature Lemon Juice:

Josie Barker’s rating: 2/10

This is the first out of the Signature lemonades. Although you may argue this is more of an honorable mention because this is quite clearly not lemonade, I included the lemon juice anyway (with regrets of course). I downed a spoonful of this, and it’s safe to say the entirety of my tonsils lit on fire. It felt like my stomach erupted out of my throat and slapped me in the face after trying this seasoning. An old friend tried to convince me this dosage was a delicacy, but don’t be fooled.

Your Typical Grocery Store Lemonade Packet:

I tried two of these dissolvable lemonade packets: Crystal Light and Signature.

Josie Barker’s rating: 6/10

Since I grew up with these sugar-free lemonade packets, I may be a little biased. Honestly, after playing all day in the sun as an eight-year-old, easily-made lemonade does the trick. I will say though, the powder sort of gets stuck in your throat, but this may just be the possible strep throat talking. Although the aftertaste is a little weird, and I’m somewhat against the zero sugar propaganda, I still liked it.

Country Time:

Josie Barker’s rating: 4/10

Absolutely vile. Please never give me the displeasure of tasting this again. I’m still distraught over how it was somewhat spicy and warm. Also, I felt like there was bacterial life growing inside its secluded juice box.

Sparkling Ice:

Strawberry and regular lemonade (zero sugar):

Josie Barker’s rating: 6.7/10

Truth be told, I’m not a huge carbonation fan. I don’t really believe in fizzy drinks, but this lemonade wasn’t all too bad. Surprisingly, the regular lemonade version was worse than its twin flame, strawberry lemonade.

Simply (Raspberry and regular lemonade)

Josie Barker’s rating: 8/10

Best grocery store lemonade by far. I hold nothing against it as a person. The raspberry flavor is a lot better than the plain lemonade.

Starbucks:

Josie Barker’s rating: 5/10

So meh. I think Starbucks should stick to its coffee. Tastes great with the lemon loaf, though.

BEST LEMONADE:

Chick-Fil-A:

Josie Barker’s rating: 10/10 – woah.

Drumroll puhleaseee!!! You got it, folks, Chick-Fil-A won this lemonade race. I’ve always been against this company for numerous reasons, but man, can they make lemonade. Wow. If you’re looking for THE hydration station, oh you bet you’ll quench your thirst at Chick-Fil-A.
