Miles of Smiles: Westmont Cross Country

Cross Country is blazing into their first meet with smiles for miles, they’ve got a win in reach, and they’re ready to get it. Here are some thoughts, stats, and news about the 25-26 team and season, featuring returning varsity member, Polina Chistyakova!

How many runners are there?

There are around 45 runners, but a lot of people are still dropping or joining.

How many returning Varsity members?

There are 12 returning varsity players.

How many players are 4-year members of Varsity?

4 Varsity seniors have been on it all four years. 

What is the current record?

They haven’t had any meets yet, but are hoping for a strong season!

When is your next meet after publication?

The next meet is on September 11, at Montgomery Hill. Come out to support our amazing cross-country team as they kick off their season. 

Who are the current team captains?

This year’s captains are Hannah Crowley (11) and Adrian Ketterer (12)

Did you guys make it to the playoffs last year?

No, not last year. 

How long has the coach been the head coach?

This is Coach Moncada’s first year coaching our team.

What are some strengths of the team?

“One of our strengths is community and supporting one another through practices and meets.”

What are some growth areas for the team?

“One of our constant growth areas is getting better and faster throughout the season!”
