By Josie Barker and Kira Yurchenko
In this article, we picked some popular musicals and our three favorite songs (along with some honorable mentions) from them. Some of these have very detailed descriptions, some do not. Also, we snuck in some songs we do not like, or borderline hate, from the musicals.

Hamilton
“Satisfied”
8.5/10
This song is complex, eye opening, and every time I start listening to it I genuinely start levitating and become the role of Angelica Schuyler.
“Wait for it”
9/10
Don’t even get us started on “Wait for it”. This song is pure musical genius, and I don’t think anyone has lived until they’ve heard this song. Also, the chirping in the background really ties together the feeling and atmosphere of the song. While listening to it, I start feeling hopeful, and I gain so much confidence for my future. It is truly breathtaking.
“Say No to This”
9/10
Oh my gosh. This song is the embodiment of suddenly taking flight, the absolute complexity of the storyline is so amazing. When I listen to this song it feels like I’m the one having an affair and not Mr. Hamilton, I genuinely don’t know how people don’t enjoy this song. I really like the background singers and how they’re against Hamilton’s actions, I feel like this song just has so many great details.
Honorable Mention
“The Room Where It Happens”
8/10
If there already weren’t this many songs on the list this would be in the top three, I can’t explain how much I love this song. If there were a way to inject this song into my bloodstream, trust me I would.
Unliked Song
“The Story of Tonight”
4/10
Instant skip.

Dear Evan Hansen
“Sincerely, Me”
10/10
Okay, I know I said you shouldn’t get me started on Wait for it, but honestly, don’t even ask me my opinions about “Sincerely, Me”. This song is a masterpiece, and will definitely be making it on my Spotify Wrapped this year. Sincerely, Me has truthfully made me a better person, and strengthened the bonds of so many of my friends and family, and I will be playing this song at my funeral.
“Anybody Have a Map?”
9.5/10
Were you looking for the best road trip song ever? Well, too bad, you just got it. This song turns me into the most jolly, enthusiastic person ever, and when I listen to it while sailing winding roads, my mind splits open and spills out the guts of our dear Evan Hansen.
“Waving Through a Window”
50/10
I get copious amounts of joy listening to this beautiful tune.
HONORABLE MENTION
“Good For You”
9/10
As a collective whole, we the people of Earth do not listen to this song enough.

Six
“Don’t Lose Ur Head”
7/10
I feel like I am a rebellious wife when I listen to this, and honestly, it empowers me.
“All You Wanna Do”
9/10
Honestly this song is amazing, it makes me feel like I’m about to be beheaded by the king of England, the great melody makes me wanna shimmy.
“Haus of Holdbein”
7.5/10
Listening to this makes me feel like a German baddie in the 1500s. Pretty groovy.

Heathers
“Meant to Be Yours”
8.5/10
This is the only song we couldn’t agree on a rating for. Josie thinks it’s immaculate and should’ve been 20/10, Kira doesn’t think so.
“Candy Store”
Actually amazing, I feel like I’m getting slapped in the face in a good way. 8.7/10
“Beautiful”
9/10
This song perfectly portrays how it feels to watch all of your old friends become evil and awful people, a relatable experience.

The Greatest Showman
“Tightrope”
9/10
I don’t think I’ll ever have a relationship with a human like the way I have a connection to this song. I cry tears of sorrow (in a good way) every time this comes on shuffle, and I bawl in the corner of my bathroom.
“Come Alive”
8/10
This song does in fact make me come alive, play this when you wake up for school.
“The Other Side”
10/10
Zac Efron please come home the kids miss you. This song is genuinely so good even my mom loves it. I don’t care that it’s too mainstream, this song is heaven.
Unliked
“A Million Dreams”
1/10
As soon as I first heard this song when I was seven I made it my goal to never hear it again.

Ride the Cyclone
“Noels Lament”
8.2/10
Very dramatic, so much flare, so unique, wonderful and amazing, I feel like I turn into him every time I play this song.
“Space Age Bachelor Man”
7.5/10
This whole musical has such fun songs, a little odd, but still great.
“What The World Needs”
9/10
Amazing, no notes. This song is such a fun sing-along, it’s so catchy. This is one of the first songs that got me into musicals and honestly I’m so glad for that.
