An Ode to Doorsashers

By Wesley Adams

I do not like doordashers
For their phones in my face
Or that conceited swagger
Leaves a stain on my day
If you’ve worked in hospitality you most likely relate
They’re impatient,
Demanding,
And do not know their place.
We’re both just food service workers
And we’re trying our best
You are the middle man, man just give it a rest.
I know your customer’s hungry but I’m sure they can wait
Do not pester me with your phone while you facetime the person you date
Let’s pause,
Take a breather,
And a couple steps back
If that can be done
If it’s not too much to ask
Then I’ll tolerate you
And I’ll “happily”
Hand you your bag.
