Welcome to the second installment of Bay Area Bites, my ongoing series where I give you reviews, rankings, and guides for restaurants all across the San Francisco Bay Area. For this issue of The Shield’s second installment I went along with my Brother to visit Morimoto Napa, a sleek Japanese Restaurant created by world renowned chef Masharu Morimoto.
Located near downtown Napa, the restaurant gave a modern and refined feeling. The service was excellent with quick servers always nearby when we needed them. Although pricey–Morimoto Napa is an excellent experience for any special occasion or if you just want some decent grub.
As for the food itself, I had the “Spicy Szechuan Steamed Chicken” served cold, packed with heat and grouped with a plethora of different flavors. The dish includes delicious Chili oil topped with tongue-numbing Szechuan peppercorns, giving it a spicy and addictive kick. The fiery heat builds with each and every bite, and is balanced with a slight taste of vinegar. This delectable dish was so flavorful and so incredibly addictive I had almost ordered a second dish. Although I only had one dish, the ambiance of the restaurant, followed by the great service, makes Morimoto a must-try if you’re willing to spend the cash.
