Excitement For Graduation Is On The Up

By Cami Yee

As the beginning of June creeps closer and closer, high school seniors are beginning to experience intense excitement for graduation and, of course, summer. These last few months mark the last leg of the class of 2025’s high school experience, a time when friends are held even tighter than before, late-night talks feel extra special, and home-cooked dinners taste like something you’ll miss. As college decisions are made, many excitedly post to Instagram and share with friends their plans, and although the future may be uncertain, Westmont seniors are taking it in stride.

The season of spring represents many ‘lasts’ for seniors, including last proms, months of high school, and moments with our friends. These final months with our families and friends before we embark into the unknowns of a new environment and the uncertainty of college remind us of the invaluable memories and relationships we have made in our 18 years of life—and that there are more to be made in the future. While we are excited to begin the next part of our lives, something many have been waiting for, it comes with a bittersweet lesson that although we are moving to the next chapter of our lives, those that had come before will never be forgotten. Soon, we will be tossing our caps at graduation, but for now, seniors, cherish every moment that you have at home; spend time with family and friends, and soak up every memory before this journey filled with excitement ends.
