Ladies and gentlemen, hounds and consorts, welcome all, welcome all! Mine critique of Romeo + Juliet shall cause many an interest. ‘Tis the day for thy play-making skills be a test to Shakesperian thought!
- ACTORS:
Sir Leonardo of di Caprio maketh a Romeo great! Many an emotion crossed thy weary face, enough to shed a tear from the face of God.
Lady Claire of Danes maketh Juliet fairer than many a woman. Such grace! Such elegance!
Sir John of Leguizamo have the hair of a man, but the temperament of a boy– thrice what thee implied within mine Tybalt!
Thine Montagues and Capulets maketh excellent elders and cousins. Bravo!
Sir Dash of Mihok hath not the temperament of what thee quite intended, therefore maketh a Benvolio… “mid”.
BRAVO, SIR HAROLD OF PERRINEAU! Mercutio hath, daresay I, an ostentatious air, dramatic and fluid! Bravo! He hath the wit and humor which thee bestowed upon his shoulders come to life!
Sir Vincent of Laresca maketh an Abra[ham] filled with power and strength. I got a twisting feeling whenever thine dastardly face appeared upon the scene.
Sir Jamie of Kennedy and Sir Jesse of Bradford hath the temperament of precisely thought by thee of Sampson and Gregory. Background, but center enough.
Lady Miriam of Margolyes maketh thy Nurse a wonderful woman! Sweet, kind, willing for Juliet. Such betrayal becometh her towards the end of thy scenes.
- SETS:
‘Tis the modern times spoketh in years to come– brilliant!
Thine “gas station” scene maketh mine adrenaline race in anticipation, and I too should like to brandish a flashy pistol. Flames add to tension, wrapping it thin as string, spiking anger and sorrow, madness and rage!
Thine ballroom scene sits full of life and spectacularity! No masks sit upon the faces of thine partygoers, however… dost thy forget ‘twas a MASQUERADE ball?
Thine “pool” scene caused mine head a spin. What is this “pool”? “Tis the scene supposed to happen outside! Very untrue, I feel… “no cap”.
Thine beach scene sparked many an emotion within my heart! Brave Mercutio dies! Evel Tybalt dies! Romeo flees! Such flurry and sadness washes the scene. Bravo! One of mine favorites, and saddest.
Thine chase scene surged with excitement and danger. Romeo must not be caught! Thine story progressed much between thy chase and Romeo and Juliet’s deaths.
Thine death scene mark’d passion and flames of a dying candle. Such beauty beholds within the Capulet’s chambers, and such sadness beholds poor Montagues and Capulets!
- COSTUMES:
‘Tis nothing of the lace and frills mine time have. Florid disguises, precious money fined into the glorious creation of Romeo + Juliet! ‘Tis the summer of vivid hue, and thy actors deliver!
Thine fabrics are stocked with colors, balancing between characters! Much thought was put into thine costumes. Thy haveth mine respect!
- STAGING:
Thine fight scenes present thee with a sense of belonging– almost as if in the scene thyself! This word, “choreographed” is put together nicely, bringing emotion into thy scenes.
Thine angles in this “movie” came together in well-round ways! Bravo! Thee can spot much thought in the staging and applauds the cameramen!
- INTERPRETATIONS:
Death! Sorrowful love! Twisted, loving fate! ‘Tis the tale of star-crossed lovers, and Romeo + Juliet maketh mine vision come true! Bravo!
