Simple is Better

By Averi Halbert

I have a huge issue. I love tv shows. I love them more than movies (for the most part) and I love getting to watch as the characters develop and grow throughout the series. However, I utterly despise starting a new tv show. I cannot, for the life of me, start new shows. I have my favorites: Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Psych, Community, New Girl, and a few more, but beyond these? I just can’t do it. I have tried so many times, and yet I can never get past the first few episodes before reverting to my classics. The worst part is that I know there are so many good shows out there, however, no matter how many times I try, I can never get into Friends, Jane the Virgin, or Gossip Girl. It just doesn’t work. My range of shows is very limited. But as long as I am aware of it and try to branch out to new ones, I think I can stick with the ones I know are good. I like what I like and I hate what I don’t like. It’s as simple as that.
