As Westmont’s cheer team gears up for Nationals, they have been focusing on consistency and sharpness in their routine. At practices, they have been improving their elites working on hitting them all together. Varsity member Sofia Grajeda says, “We have all been putting in a lot more work this season, and with a lot of injuries and complications, it’s good to see how we are still progressing and working through it as a team.” Their hard work paid off at their recent competition at Deer Valley High School on January 11, where they took first place with their performance of the “Fight Song.” With Nationals in Florida just around the corner on February 7th, the team is determined to bring their best to the mat.
