Athlete of The Issue: Lujyne Shalaby

By Lili Metanovic

Despite being just a sophomore, Lujyne Shalaby is already a driving force behind the Westmont Girls Soccer team’s success. Proven by her hat tricks against Independence and Gunderson, she finds the back of the net with ease. As a two-year varsity starter, Lujyne has flourished on the field while building strong connections with her teammates. Last season, she was named BVAL Freshman of the Year and finished as the league’s top-scoring freshman. The one and only Lujyne Shalaby is already making her mark at Westmont, and we can’t wait to see the legacy she leaves behind. Read the Q&A below to learn more about this rising superstar.
