Seated in a black leather booth at Din Tai Fung, I have called upon Paul Mescal, Phoebe Bridgers, and Daisy Edgar Jones to finally get the closure, and answers we, the public, deserve. I have a pre-planned seating, where Paul and Phoebe (once engaged) sit beside each other, while Daisy (directly in front of Paul) and I sit across from them. We’d begin our tension-filled meal with the garlic green beans, and I’d note Paul’s consistent glances to an unknowing Daisy. Once our drinks have arrived (I personally ordered a honey milk tea with boba) the interrogation begins. The first matter of business: Phoebe and Paul’s sudden breakup. Second matter of business: Paul’s current girlfriend and Phoebe’s friend, Gracie Abrams. Third (and most important) matter of business: Paul’s infatuation with Daisy. Will Paul and Phoebe heal unattended wounds just in time for the porkchop fried rice? Will I learn the cause of the sudden separation? Perhaps Phoebe holds resentment for Gracie, and how is her relationship with Paul going? Does his constant mentioning of Daisy cause doubt in her relationship? After the heated conversation over spicy chicken wontons, the truth will all be revealed with chocolate mochi xiao long bao. Perhaps we’ll get a confession out of Paul, and his feelings for Daisy will be revealed. Nevertheless, this Table for Four will bring all the drama to Din Tai Fung for a memorable dinner course.
