This creepy urban legend claims that celebrity deaths spike at 27 years old due to supernatural influences, such as a deadly curse. Some interpretations of The 27 Club claim that the celebrities who tragically passed away were Rock Gods and Goddesses, and regard their preemptive deaths as inevitable. Despite the concerningly large size of members of the Club, a 2011 British study revealed that the age of 27 was no more deadly for celebrities than it was for the general populace—that is, not particularly perilous, and in fact one of the safer ages.
