250 million dollars. That was how much it cost to direct, animate, and publish a show about some silly video game characters.

At first glance, I thought Arcane would be a huge flop. First of all, it was adapted after the popular game League of Legends. Although the game is famous, it doesn’t have the best reputation due to the toxic fanbase it harbors. I also saw the trend of countless failed video game adaptations, assuming Arcane would follow suit.

But boy, was I wrong. The video game adaptation couldn’t have done any better with Arcane’s first season becoming a multi-award-winning show within a year. Notably, the 2022 Emmy Award for Outstanding Animated Program was given to the show, an award only given to one animated program every year.

Fast forward to November of this year, Arcane season two comes out with fans’ expectations high. Once again, the Arcane production team did not disappoint as with every episode of the series, you can see exactly where each and every cent of the 250 million dollars went.

Now as I look back at the Arcane series as a whole, I see just how much of a masterpiece it is; with the music, beautiful animation, and unique story. In my opinion, the second season’s music was far better in comparison to the first. Additionally, my favorite scene was where Isha (the character displayed at the beginning of the article page) made one of the most epic but also heart-breaking sacrifices in the show, despite her title as a side character. In my heart though, Isha will always be a main character.

All in all, Arcane was truly a spectacle to watch, and I highly recommend it to anyone interested in a new action-packed show.
