The 2024 MLB Postseason has been one of the most thrilling, entertaining, and stunning series of baseball games in recent history; therefore, it was only fitting that the World Series be one for the ages. With the two largest franchises in the league battling for the chance to be named “2024 World Series Champs” the full force of both players and fanbases would go head-to-head in the arduous journey to the top of the baseball world. The New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Dodgers represented the two most populated American cities in the World Series. With the major popularity came the fierce loyalty behind every fan looking to support their baseball team.

Generating mass amounts of revenue, the 2024 World Series became one of the most profitable sports events in recent history. Below, I will include a description of the memorable events that occurred and the results of this year’s record-breaking World Series.
Ohtani Craze
As a result of Shohei Ohtani’s transfer from the Nippon Professional Baseball League in Japan and his record-breaking season with the Los Angeles Dodgers this year, the Major League Baseball Association expanded their audienc to a Japanese fanbase. Though American baseball fans distinguish Shohei as the Dodgers’ dominant designated hitter, many Japanese baseball admirers recognized Shohei as the dual threat (Offensive and Defensive) player for the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters who led them to a championship in 2016. Infamous for his ability to hit the baseball 450 feet and pitch the ball one hundred miles an hour, Ohtani instantaneously became a Japanese household name. With his excellent performance in the World Series, Ohtani represented the millions of supporters tuned in to the World Series, ready to watch him whack the ball out of the park.
Juan Soto’s Performance
Similar to Ohtani’s dominant 2024 season, Juan Soto outperformed almost every team he faced. By earning countless hits and forty-one home runs, Soto gave fans a glimpse of his outstanding Postseason performance. Rallying the Yankees on their journey to the top of the baseball world, Soto constantly had fans roaring with towering home runs against the best pitchers in the league. A fearless New York legend, Juan Soto almost always had the Yankees start off with a hot start.
The Major League Baseball World Series featured many memorable occurrences that will go down in history as one of the biggest sports events in history. Solemnly the Yankees did not win, and though I despise the Dodgers, they performed excellently and executed their goal in an elegant fashion. Congratulations to the Los Angeles Dodgers and the New York Yankees for putting on one incredible World Series.
