Zach Bryan

By Delaney Pound

Zachary “Zach” Lane Bryan is a country singer and songwriter who began to gain more popularity within the last few months. Typically, his songs are about heartbreaks, family troubles, or the ups and downs of his life. He is most known for his songs “Something in the Orange,” “Burn, Burn, Burn,” and “I Remember Everything”; but he has made so many other amazing songs. Here are some of my favorites:

“Heading South”

“Heading South” is a single that debuted September 30, 2019 and later appears in the album Elisabeth on May 8, 2020. This song is also very popular, but more importantly, it is one of the most influential songs in Zach’s career. On September 6, 2019, Zach Bryan recorded a 2 minute and 45 second video on his phone of him playing the guitar and singing this song. At the time, Zach was in the navy and recording the video just outside of his barracks. This song went viral due to Zach’s amazing singing and guitar-playing, as well as the relatable meaning of the song. Zach sings about how you should never give up on your dreams, even when others doubt you. His lyrics cut deep into his listeners soul which makes him very enjoyable to listen to.

“Fear and Fridays”

Currently, “Fear and Fridays” is my favorite Zach Bryan song to listen to. This song is included on the Zach Bryan album that came out on August 25, 2023. This song illustrates the feeling of being in love and all the overwhelming emotions that come with it. Just all of his songs, the lyrics and his delivery speaks volumes to his listeners. I love this song and I highly recommend it!

“Sweet Deann”

“Sweet DeAnn” is the last song featured in Zach’s first album, DeAnn. In this gut wrenching song, Zach sings about the loss of his mother. He frequently sings about experiences with his mother and dealing with her passing, but this song is relatable to many audiences, not just to those who have lost a parent. His voice is solemn, but still incredibly powerful, conveying his feelings, regrets, and memories all at the same time.

Overall, Zach Bryans music is genuinely so admirable, relatable, and pleasant to listen to. His vulnerability connects him with his audience which allows his listeners to feel seen while experiencing his music. I absolutely love Zach Bryan’s music, so if you get a chance, check him out!
