The song continues to rapidly climb the charts and currently holds the title of top song in the United States on Spotify. As time progresses, undoubtedly the song will reach peak popularity across the globe as the Weeknd continues with the end of his worldwide After Hours til Dawn Tour in Australia.
Hearing the song for the first time blew my mind. Truly, it felt like my ears were floating. When the Weeknd dropped “Dancing With the Flames” on September 13, 2024, I was extremely excited. Although I thought the song was mediocre, as a superfan of the Weeknd I was hungry for something better. A song that would combine his older style of music with his new flow of lyrics. Undoubtedly, “Timeless” fulfilled my craving. The subtle melodic beats paired with the Weeknd’s catchy lyrics make the perfect blend to listen to. In addition, Playboi Carti’s usage of different tones of voices and seamless blend from the Weeknd’s verse also add a magical touch to the song. “Timeless” perfectly reflects both of the artist’s styles while still showcasing their individual voices and tones.
As I continue to stream “Timeless” an unhealthy amount of times, I cannot help but feel even more excited for the Weeknd to drop his album. Although Hurry Up Tomorrow will be his last album under his persona of the Weeknd, I have faith that it will be nothing less than perfect and timeless.
