Westmont’s football team has taken the field as we begin yet another amazing season! Starting strong, Westmont handily beat Mount Pleasant 41-7. Although they put up a good fight, they unfortunately fell short of securing their next win against Fremont with a final score of 15-21. With league games on the horizon, the players are hoping to secure a spot at the top of the league and punch their ticket to CCS. On their first game, captain Matthew Taylor commented, “we played very well, we still have a lot to improve on. For a first game it’s a great start to build on”. He expressed his excitement to “play with [his] boys for the last time” and hopes to bring home a strong record for his senior year. The players put in some great effort throughout their first game against Mount Pleasant, with Matthew mentioning “besides Matthew Taylor, Spencer Hoang, Andes Rivas, and Khoa Tran all stood out and played really well”. Westmont football’s full schedule can be found on MaxPreps.com, or on the Westmont Football Instagram. Come support their Homecoming game on September 27 against Piedmont Hills!
