Q&A

When did you start playing water polo?

I started playing in 7th grade when I was 12. I was inspired to play because water polo is very popular in Sicily, an island in Italy where I was born.

What’s your favorite thing about playing water polo?

I like my teammates. We’ve really connected closely over the past few years.

What has been your most memorable experience with water polo?

One year, we went into BVALs as the lowest seed. We went undefeated all the way up into the CCS qualifier match, and then we barely lost. Even though we didn’t win, I was still proud of our accomplishments.

Do you have a pregame routine?

I put on headphones and listen to calming music like Kenny G. Then I dab up all of my teammates, stretch, and make sure everyone is ready for the game.

What are you excited about this season?

It’s my senior year so I’m excited to watch the team grow and prepare them for next year.

Do you see a future playing water polo?

I want to play in college but not too competitively. Maybe I’ll join a club team.

What’s your favorite food?

A GOOD Italian pizza.

What’s your favorite class?

AP Physics C with Anupana Tandon.

Is there anything else you would like to say?

I want to thank our coaches because they actually care about us and take time out of their day to help us.
