The title of the article perfectly describes what I will be writing about, but I’ll set the scene for you. After a toiling walk home, the first thing I do is drop my backpack and look in the refrigerator for a tasty snack, am I looking for something sweet or something sour? The matter of what to eat is never an issue though because my mom’s weekly grocery trips ensure I always have the ingredients to make my newest snack craving.
1. Greek yogurt, honey, Love Crunch granola, and crushed raspberries
Perhaps my most prideful invention, I am hooked on this easy snack. The crunchiness and subtle sweetness of the granola and the tart juicy raspberries provide the most wonderful experience for your taste buds. If you’re a little picky, don’t worry! My sister, the most judgy food critic of mine, has been eating this for breakfast every day since I forced her to taste it.
2. Bagel, cream cheese, cinnamon, brown sugar
This snack is definitely not to eat every day, however, it is very yummy! You toast your bagel and mix the cream cheese, cinnamon, and brown sugar together. Finally, broil that thing in your oven (or air-fry it). I saw the snack from this video on TikTok and I was instantly hooked. I am a major fan of cream cheese, especially when it is mixed with something sweet. This snack is great for people that like cheesecake.
3. Lotus Biscoff Cookies
While I was in the land of maple syrup and denim suits (Canada), my family and I stumbled into a Costco. Funnily enough, there just happened to be a kilo of Biscoff cookies just waiting to be bought! Yes, my sister did like them very much, we ate a pack (250g) in a day. That was the best thing to happen to me on my trip, the extra weight in my suitcase was so worth it.
4. Apples and Peanut Butter
The hardest part about preparing this snack is getting the peanut butter off of the spoon. So delicious, so easy! The only problem is if you scoop out too much peanut butter onto the apple it might get stuck in your mouth, otherwise, I have no complaints! I love sweet and savory combinations and the apple/peanut butter combo fulfills my snack requirements.
5. Lemon Water
This might not be a snack but holy cannoli is it delicious. Working out and needing a sweet boost of energy? Lemon water is the one for you! Don’t like the taste of plain water? Just squeeze a lemon! After a laboring practice, all I want is a glass of juice…however, I did just work out and I guess I should try to keep my healthy streak going so I opt instead for some water with lemon in it! Yummy!!
6. Fruit
Oh my golly gee, fruit is the one for me! So sweet, so delicious, it is the perfect snack for a hot day. I have nothing more to add.
7. Chia seed pudding, bananas, blueberries, granola, chocolate chips, and honey
With quite the stack of ingredients, this snack has stolen my heart. This particular snack stemmed from Yummy Snack #1. Unfortunately, I got a little tired of the yogurt (fret not, I still eat it and enjoy it, just not every single day!), so I had to find a suitable substitute that met my high expectations. However, be warned that if you aren’t a fan of the slight chance of crunching on the chia seeds (though it may not even be possible, but a real fear nonetheless), don’t add the granola because it might feed into your fear. Just a warning.
I hope you can try out some of the snacks (I am very proud of the yogurt one that I thought of) and maybe even find your new favorite treat! Stumbling upon a delicious snack combination is like finding a diamond in the rough, you’ll treasure it forever!
