The Proper Morning Ritual

From eggs and bacon, to fruit and yogurt, and pancakes and potatoes, breakfast is by far the best meal of the day. Often deemed the most important meal of the day too, it is key to a healthy diet and your mental wellbeing. Commonly hearing my peers mention lunch as their first meal of the day I am confused as to how they function in the morning. Many people overlook the significance of starting the day off with a good meal. Beyond its nutritional benefits, breakfast helps wake up your senses and set your mood for the day. The better breakfast you eat, the better day you will have! At its core, breakfast is an important fuel source for the body and brain after an extended period of fasting during sleep. Studies have consistently shown the benefits of breakfast, from improved concentration and mood, to reduced risk of diseases such as diabetes and obesity. By replenishing your body’s glycogen and providing nutrients, a well-rounded breakfast jump starts your metabolism, improves brain function, and supports your overall well-being. 

The true magic of breakfast, though, lies not only in its physiological effects but also in the endless flavors of happiness. Picture waking up to the smell of freshly brewed coffee, the sizzle of bacon on the stove, and the golden hue of a perfectly cooked omelet. From sweet to savory and hearty to light, breakfast can cater to different tastes and preferences. Imagine the watery sensation in your mouth as you catch a glimpse of your server rounding the corner and with them, the Nutella-covered bananas foster french toast that you ordered. The moment of pure bliss you experience as you take your first bite. This feeling, for any breakfast food, will forever be my favorite part of the day. In our busy lives, it can be easy to overlook the importance of breakfast with stressful time restrictions and laziness. However, by prioritizing eating breakfast, you not only nourish your body but also your soul, bringing joy to your day. So the next time you find yourself rushing out the door on an empty stomach, stop and take the opportunity to enjoy the deliciousness of breakfast. After all, there’s no better way to start the day than with a hearty meal and a smile on your face; the proper morning ritual.
