Are you a night owl or an early bird? I am both and neither. Sometimes I have no energy to stay up late or wake up early. However, occasionally I am blessed with having the energy to do either one. The latest I have stayed up is 3:30 a.m. and the earliest I have woken up is also 3:30 a.m. Why not combine the two and pull an all nighter? Of course, performing such a feat would require support from a friend. Therefore, my friend and I had a sleepover with one goal in mind: do not sleep.
I chronicled the night to give other first timers an insight into what they are getting themselves into.
12:00 am →It’s already dark out? The night has barely started.
1:00 am →Adrenaline is high!
2:00 am → What is sleep? Why do we sleep? I can go for as long without sleep. Maybe.
3:00 am →Uh-oh. Why are my blinks so long? Let’s have a dance party!
4:00 am → Why can’t I think? It feels like I’m in a dream.
5:00 am → Wait so all nighter means no naps? I feel like I can just take a 5 minute nap and I’ll be normal again.
6:00 am → Okay, this definitely counts as morning. I think we did it! Let’s take a nap! Please!
To conclude, this one all nighter (I know you are supposed to not sleep at all for the rest of the day, but this is an exception) messed up my whole day and I felt the effects of it for the next two days. I have a pretty consistent sleep schedule so this definitely uprooted my system. I recommend trying to pull an all-nighter at least once because it is truly an experience. Would I do it again? Probably.
