Home Eat, an astounding restaurant located in Cupertino, has stolen my family’s heart. Every other Sunday after church we head over to Home Eat, our favorite local Asian food stop. With a massive catalog of delectable items, not one we’ve tried has disappointed. Home Eat serves over 100 different dishes, catering to both authentic Chinese palate and my Americanized appetite. My family’s go-to order contains sweet soy wings, combination chow mein, and the fire burst Mongolian beef. I do consider myself an adventurous eater, yet I cannot seem to order anything but these due to how incredible they are.
To start, the lobby. Every visit, the greeter instantly seats us and brings water without having to ask. The restaurant is much larger than I expected, with a main room in the center and some more private booths behind. The plush seats are comfortable and clean; the table has plenty of room to fit all of our food. And fortunately, the portions are very large. The sauces they provide blow me away with their salty, spicy, and savory flavors. The garlic dipping sauce mixes perfectly with every item I have tried, leading to me wishing I had some at home. Also amazing is the jasmine tea, delivered in a beautiful, piping-hot teapot. Home Eat consistently provides a cozy ambiance and rapid service, greatly enhancing the overall experience.
Now, the main course. Sweet soy chicken wings, combo chow mein, Mongolian beef, and a myriad of other items we have ordered in past visits. Every single dish delicious as the last, with sizes big enough for a family of 6 to share. There is so much variety in the menu, and you can’t go wrong with anything. However, one food towers above the others. For example, the sweet soy wings. An American classic with a genius Chinese spin, these wings belong in a Michelin-star restaurant. The delightfully crisp skin satisfyingly snaps with every bite, while the tender meat falls right off the thin bones. As soon as the flavor hits my tongue, I am transported to another dimension. Sweet yet savory sauce coats my mouth, enveloping it in a warm hug. I yearn for more, scarfing each decadent morsel down quicker than the last. The best wings on Earth, served right here in Cupertino. The other dishes – although incredible – are mere peasants when in the presence of the regal wings.
In order to wash down the bounteous quantity of food I consume, a refreshing drink is needed. And Home Eat has just that: cool watermelon juice. The juice, all-natural with little sugar added, perfectly complements the rich flavors of beef and noodles, allowing a more enjoyable dining experience. The tea, while also tasty, does not reset my taste buds the same way. In order to truly complete the Home Eat Experience (trademark pending) sweet soy wings and fresh juice are required. I look forward to Sunday afternoons after discovering this hidden gem of a restaurant, which I visit frequently enough to call home.
