Sensational Sanvi Swain

By Adam Sarsfield

As a part of the Humans of Westmont section for the Shield, I was tasked with finding and interviewing a student from Westmont in their sophomore year. The student I interviewed was Sanvi Swain. Sanvi is a part of Best Buddies, Blood Drives, Women in Stem, and Paws, which she says “are all some really cool clubs.” These clubs focus on helping those in need and empowering young women not to be discouraged by the patriarchal society that we all live in. When asked why Sanvi pursued joining these clubs, she answered, “I love how you can meet new people and do some really fun activities in each meeting.” Aside from the clubs that Sanvi participates in, she also greatly adores the spirit events, saying, “My favorite part about Westmont is all of the spirit events our ASB puts together.” Sanvi loves to embrace her natural singing talent outside of school: “I love to sing and have been doing it since I was four!” Although interacting with someone you’ve never met before can be pretty daunting for many people, the connection that Westmont allows creates a safe environment for everyone to befriend each other.
