With rigorous practices amounting to 12 hours throughout the week, our students are working away, getting competition-ready. Their very first competition of the season is on the horizon, set for February 10th at Independence High School where they will be performing TRAPPED; Inspired by Arcade Fire – My Body Is a Cage. Senior Alan Lu is hopeful of “dominating at competitions” this season.
The seniors of Westmont’s Winter Percussion have already begun reflecting on their time in the band. sharing what they are most excited about. Celena Pirkl, who has been in the band all four years says she is “excited to add visuals to the show as well as getting better at the music” as practices continue. Sylvie Nghiem adds that as they perfect the show, it is coming together “sounds super cool [she] can’t wait to perform it.”
