Living in the Bay Area means that there are plenty of golf courses around to choose from. However, those within a short distance are not well maintained and tend to only be good for practice. I’ve played on nearby, trashy courses many times over, each time being just as disappointing as the last. So I have listed a few of my dream, somewhat close by and attainable courses, that given the opportunity I would love to play at.
Torrey Pines
Torrey Pines is in the surfer’s paradise: San Diego. It is one of the nicest courses in Southern California and hosts an extremely popular tournament, the Farmer Insurance Open. I have yet to go to San Diego, so if I ever go that far down the coast, I will definitely try to play here.
Pebble Beach
Although Pebble Beach is pretty close by, only about 1 ½ hours away, I have never played on this course. Perhaps that is due to the 500 dollar entry fee required to play. But if I ever get my hands on a spare 500 dollars I just might play this gorgeous course.
Pinehurst
Pinehurst is a pretty well-known course in North Carolina. The 2024 United States Open is being held here and they have hosted many others over the years such as U.S. Open Championships, U.S. Women’s Open, U.S. Amateur Championships, and the Ryder Cup. Despite the distance, Pinehurst is an amazing golf course at which every golf player would love to play.
Augusta
Located in Georgia, Augusta is one of the most known courses in the entire country due to its difficulty and impeccably maintained appearance and fields. Home to the PGA Masters, this course is on every golf player’s dream course list, including mine.
