With the upcoming elections, both state and national, it is crucial to vote. If you are 16 or 17, you can pre-register, and if you are 18+ you can properly register. While getting a driver’s license there is the option to register/pre-register, but this article will explain how to do so online. Here’s how:
To Register/Pre-Register:
- Go to https://registertovote.ca.gov/
- Choose your language, it automatically sets to English but also has Spanish, Hindi, Chinese, Japanese, Khmer, Korean, Tagalog, Thai, and Vietnamese.
- Choose either to register to pre-register
- Fill out the form
This form will need your legal first and last name, birthday, place of birth, and address. It also asks for a social security number and driver’s license number, however if you do not have one, there is a box to check so you can resume the form. You can choose your political party, which allows you to vote in closed primaries. Finally, you choose how to receive the ballot.
Check back later to be sure it has gone through using the method below.
