Songs To Be Delulu To

By Laura Lipcsei

As February approaches, so does the holiday of romance: Valentine’s Day. As a single person who has no plans of dating anytime soon, most people would assume I don’t really like Valentine’s Day; but on the contrary, I love the holiday. The delicious chocolates I force my friends to buy, as well as the romantic atmosphere, and cute decorations make me love Valentine’s Day. However, despite loving these things about Valentine’s Day, my favorite activity is listening to love songs and being delusional. Although I have no interest in dating, I find the activity entertaining, which is why I will be listing some of my favorite romantic songs.

  1. “Valentine” by Laufey

This song is my all time favorite Valentines song. “Valentine” has the perfect romantic vibes, with its soft instrumental and Laufey’s smooth voice. Everytime I listen to this song I can imagine myself going on dates on a snowy street, holding hands with some significant other, and drinking hot chocolate. Whether or not you’re looking for a valentine this year, “Valentine” is a must-listen.

  1. “Love” by Keyshia Cole

With a guitar filled instrumental and Keyshia’s passionate voice, “Love” exudes romantic feelings. I’m not gonna lie, I have, and will continue to scream this song in the shower. I don’t know why, but something about the song gives me the urge to perform it at the top of my lungs. The songs overall vibes are giving “delusional girl in-love” which I absolutely love, and in my eyes, perfectly fits Valentine’s Day.

  1. “Lil’ Love Song” by Tash

Tash singing about how in love she is with someone, to the point where she can’t get over  them? Count me in! This song gives off such “desperately in love” vibes, to the point that listening to it has me kicking my feet back and forth and giggling (well, not really, but you get the point). If you’re looking to be delulu, listen to this song.

  1. “Lover” by Taylor Swift

To me, “Lover” is a classic love song. I can never exclude this song from romantic playlists, and every Valentine’s Day this song is on repeat. I don’t think there is much else I can say about this song, except for the fact that Taylor’s voice is absolutely heavenly. If you’re looking for a love song, listen to “Lover”.

Although there are many more love songs I could list, these four are the cream of the crop, and the ones I would most highly recommend to listen to.
