Air grows colder,
Frost coats the hands of the penholder—
Nib and paper, to solder—
The font spills over,
Turning page to ink based polder
Air freezes,
Chilled air breezes
The room’s warmth eases;
Homeostasis depleted
The windows, ice seizes
But soon the frost shall melt,
And only warmth shall be felt,
But soon the heat will swelter
And erase all the melter
Til March we await our letters
A contract turning students to debtors
Soon, it’ll all be over
The air grows colder,
I’m only getting older
