Some might call him a Pokémon fanatic and some might call him a great teacher. I would have to argue and say that he is both. Whether Joseph Flores is showing off his cool kicks or cool ways to learn, he is undoubtedly one of the best at what he does. Where did you go to high school?
I went to Independence High School in Eastside San Jose.
What was your school’s mascot?
We were the 76ers and our mascot was like a patriot.
When did you graduate?
2009.
What was your favorite class in high school and why?
English 2 because my teacher was really cool and all of my friends were in that class. There were a lot of cool vibes.
What was your most challenging class and why?
Spanish because my teachers were not very interactive so I didn’t really learn anything. I failed Spanish 1 twice.
What extracurricular activities were you involved in?
I played baseball for a couple of weeks but I quit because I was really bad, but other than that I was a skater.
Who were your favorite bands/artists/songs while in high school?
My favorite bands were MGMT. I listened to them when they were underground. I also liked The Killers when I was in my depressed phase.
What was your favorite tv show in high school?
That’s So Raven.
What was your favorite novel?
The Catcher and The Rye.
What was your favorite movie while in high school?
Lords of Dogtown.
What are your favorite memories of high school?
Being with my friends every day, skating, and being goofballs.
What is your least favorite memory of high school?
When my friend died from a tiger at the zoo.
What time did school start and end?
School started at 7:05 and ended at 2:05.
What was your gpa?
About 3.4.
Did you receive any awards?
Honor Roll.
How did you get to school (if you drove, what kind of car)?
I skateboarded to school everyday. I didn’t want my parents to drive to school because it was embarrassing.
Did you ever have to go to the dean or principal’s office? Why?
A few times over dumb stuff. Once I chased birds and got in trouble. Another time I was standing outside across the street from school and the cops arrested me for no reason.
What is your favorite Pokémon card that you own?
Shiny Charizard GX.
What is your favorite pair of shoes that you own?
Slip On Merrell Clogs.
