Competition Cheer Update

By Kendall Albrecht

Halfway through an already successful season, Westmont’s Competition Cheer team hopes to maintain momentum entering the months leading up to nationals. At competitions on January 6, 20, and 27, they will focus on fine tuning the routine they have been upgrading since October. The team—having received recognition from the district office, rings, and a brand new banner last year—aims to regain the title of Nor Cal state champions, as well as succeed at UCA Nationals in Florida on February 7-12. Already competing a more difficult routine than the one they performed at last year’s nationals, the Westmont cheerleaders appear on track to meet these goals. Captains Kendall Albrecht, Iha Shah, and Catherine Miranda say, “The team is showing great promise so far, and we can’t wait to see where the rest of the season will take us.” To follow the Westmont cheer team throughout their journey to nationals follow @westmontcheerleading on Instagram.
