Soup: a liquid dish, typically made by boiling meat, fish, or vegetables, etc., in stock or water.
Additionally, it’s classified as a substance or mixture perceived to resemble soup in appearance or consistency.
For some reason, whenever I mention my hot takes, the one that gets the most flame is that I believe cereal is soup. I’m not quite sure why, just a quick glance at the definition of soup makes it abundantly clear that cereal is in fact, a soup.
The two largest arguments that cereal is not a soup is that, A. it’s dairy-based, and B. it’s cold. To those who argue that I present Cacik. Cacik is a cold, yogurt-based soup from Turkey. By definition, it’s a dairy-based dish mixed with vegetables, grains, and seasoning. What is cereal? A dairy-based stock with grain inside, usually accompanied by dried fruits, or gelatin based marshmallows, which basically makes it a cold version of soups that Americans know and love, combined with Cacik. Case closed, all other arguments are invalid, I’m right, you’re wrong, cereal is soup.
