Every year, when Christmas rolls around, the first sign of the impending holiday is the variety of Christmas music that invades my everyday life. I can hear it at the mall, in a grocery store, in a Costco, in Downtown Campbell; I can hear it everywhere. Although I love Christmas music, I get tired of it after repeatedly listening to that kind of music, but there is an exception; the best Christmas song, and one of my favorite songs of all time; “Last Christmas” by Wham!
“Last Christmas” is classic yet never boring. The nostalgic and comforting instrumental, paired with George Michael’s soothing, honey-like vocals, create an absolute masterpiece of a song. Besides its amazing production, “Last Christmas” simply creates feelings of holiday spirit and cheer, feelings that other singers fail to grasp and incorporate into their songs. Although I have listened to “Last Christmas” hundreds of times, I doubt I will ever become tired of it. This masterpiece of a song will always be my go-to Christmas song.
