Going SICKO MODE in Oakland

By Lili Metanovic

The Circus Maximus Tour, also known as the Utopia Tour Presents Circus Maximus, is American rapper and singer Travis Scott’s fourth concert tour in promotion of his fourth studio album, Utopia. His set list consisted of many songs off of Utopia along with some of his most popular songs not off the album like “SICKO MODE”, “goosebumps”, “Antidote”, and “90210. Scott’s tour happened to stop in Oakland, and I had the opportunity to see him. With two gigs in Oakland on October 31st and November 1st (I went to one on the 1st), and tickets that were reasonably priced; seeing the rapper was a no-brainer. I guess you could say I went “SICKO MODE” with my friends at this concert. Overall, I had a good experience; but waiting in line for pricey merchandise for over an hour is not something I want to relive.

Travis arrived about 9:40 and left around 11:15, let’s just say he put on quite a performance. He had everyone on their feet the entire night. My personal favorites from his set were “FEIN”, “Antidote”, and “I KNOW?” Nonetheless, all of his songs were fantastic, and his energy onstage was so contagious that I could feel it from Section 219 Row 4.
