The times when I find myself full with the most amount of joy are times when I am consumed with the overwhelming forces of nature. One of my most favorite things to do in the vast, ever-evolving environment is to explore—taking advantage of the outdoor preserve spaces in California. I am overwhelmingly thankful for the state that I live in, and the opportunity it brings to me to do what I love. I find myself constantly hiking new trails almost every weekend, and there are always more; that is one of the parts that makes hiking so enjoyable (seeing nature in a new way).
Importantly, hiking provides a sense of accomplishment. No matter the distance or elevation trekked, in the end, hiking always feels rewarding. To take a break at the peak of a mountain, looking out to the tiny skyscrapers and local businesses of Silicon Valley is an experience I am forever grateful for. Taking in the worlds of each city around me from various heights, this venture feels like millions of different special spots in the palm of my hand. The peak of all other reasons, the enjoyment of hiking with a specific company brings me so much joy. Hiking has brought me close to multiple peers of mine in high school, as well as my family. Growing up as a regular hiker, I feel excited to teach others about my knowledge of the adventurous activity. There is absolutely nothing I could be more thankful for (besides maybe the beach) than hiking.
