The Eras Movie

By Sophia Doan

“No, I couldn’t get tickets,” I said sadly whenever someone asked when I was going to the Eras Tour. Anyone who knows me knows that I am obsessed with Taylor Swift. So when I didn’t get tickets, I was heartbroken. Of course, when I heard about the Eras Movie, I was thrilled.

Taylor Alisson Swift has had one of the best music careers of all time. She has ten Grammys, 37.3 albums sold, and millions of worldwide fans. The Eras Tour was the most attended concert by a female musician, and she makes around $13 million dollars every night she performs. The concert was 3 and a half hours long, full of enthusiastic fans, friendship bracelets, tears, and more.

Scrolling through my Instagram one day, I jumped up when I saw Taylor Nation’s post: I was going to be able to see the Eras Tour at my nearest AMC. I counted down the days, still disappointed I missed the concert but thrilled I could watch the movie.

Walking into the theater, I saw people wearing everything from The Eras Tour merch to sparkling dresses and red lipstick. As you walk into the movie, they hand you a mini Taylor Swift poster, making the experience so much more magical.

Once the movie started I immediately started screaming the words to every song. I hardly drank or ate the whole 2 hours and 48 minutes I was so into the songs. We stood up and screamed during songs like “Look What You Made Me Do” and “Style,” and I started sobbing during “All Too Well (10 Minute Version)”.

I recommend this movie for Swifties and non-Swifties alike. Whether you are standing up and screaming or sitting down and watching, the experience is so worth the $19.89. The camera angles and fan shots make Swift look so real and make you feel like you are standing on the stage singing along with her. The production and effects make the show surprising and unique, and Swift’s stage presence and facial expressions make the film.

Overall the movie exceeded my expectations, making me even more proud to be a Swiftie. Go watch the Eras Movie!!
