Starting off the season with a splash, Westmont’s girls’ water polo team won their first game against San Lorenzo High School, and took home two wins at the SLV tournament. The team, lead by captains Amanda Tran and Rachel Tang, look forward to a promising season. Freshman Maya Bourne says, “I really like…being on the team because all the girls are super nice and supportive; and our team works together to make plays happen and win our games.” The water polo coaches— Katelyn Gortovnik and Jeff Bissel — tirelessly prepare the team for their games, which take place every Tuesday and Thursday.
