Drake, one of the most well known artists in the world known for countless popular songs and albums over the course of the last decade is set to release his new album “For All the Dogs” on Sep 23, 2023. (Although previously announced to be released over 2 weeks ago). In the meantime, rating some of Drake’s best (and worst) albums seems to be a good way to pass time.
- Her Loss.
Released in November of 2022, Her Loss is Drake’s 10th album and his 2nd collaborative album. Her Loss has become one of the most ripped on and jokes about Albums ever. With songs like “Rich Flex” it’s understandable that Drake and 21 Savage team up to make one of the songs ever with sub par lyrics paired up with not that great of instrumentals, it was well deserving of the memes and thrashings thrust upon it. My personal favorite song on this album is “I Guess Its F*ck Me”. The lyrics and instrumentals are definitely one of the better ones so that’s why it’s my favorite. Her Loss is a 6.4/10 on Metacritic and a 3/5 rating by me.
- Honestly, Nevermind.
Released in June of 2022, Honestly, Nevermind is Drake’s 9th album. This is one of Drake’s more popular albums with nearly a million albums sold and 900 million streams. This album has well known songs like “Jimmy Cooks”. “Jimmy Cooks” is personally one of my favorite Drake songs and is rightfully so. With amazing lyrics and just as good of instrumentals it deserved to debut as number 1 on the billboard hot 100. Honestly, Nevermind was not as influential as Drake’s other albums. This was due to it being relatively subpar of an album with the exception of “Jimmy Cooks”. This album is a 4.6/10 on Metacritic and a 2/5 rating by me.
- Scorpion
Released in June of 2018 Scorpion is Drake’s 5th album. Scorpion is extremely popular with over 5 million albums sold and having a song like “God’s Plan” on it. “God’s Plan” was the most popular song of 2018 with now over 2 billion streams on spotify. “God’s Plan” is phenomenal in every way with amazing lyrics, instrumentals, and the wild influence it had on pop culture. “God’s Plan” also debuted on the billboard hot 100. Scorpion is a 3.9/10 on metacritic due to it being 90 minutes long. In my opinion this album is a 4/5.
All in all, Drake’s past albums have definitely been alright, hopefully For All The Dogs will redeem him and not make him the laughing stock of the rap game.
