No specific review can encapsulate the magnitude of impact brought to each town by Taylor Swift. Merch trucks grew hour long lines, traffic worse than any rush hour imaginable, and each concert not exactly like the other. After around six months of touring, the United States leg of Taylor Swift’s “Eras Tour” came to a close August 9, 2023. The music artist created a concert experience like none other; the only place someone at a concert may ever hear the person next to them yell every single word to a 45 song set list.
Kicking off mid March 2023 the “Eras Tour” speedily grew into something much greater than just a regular old tour. With 53 three hour long shows; vines of concert goers grew throughout stadiums bringing them to life as each person found their seat. My experience at Santa Clara night one would accurately be described as the most magical night all while being squished into a stadium like sardines in a can. Honestly, I cannot complain though because as glitter and confetti fell to the floor, bracelets traded, and lyrics shouted, I felt more safe in this large group of people than any group before.
Rising Swift’s success, the tour is estimated to become the highest grossing tour of all time, raking in around one billion dollars. While raking in money from fans, Swift is not the only one making money. Economics from the New York Times and other newspaper publishing companies state that the economy of each city the blonde artist visits completely turns around while local food places, hotel chains, and stores gain a rush of customers. This tour clearly is not over, and neither is its legacy. With all of the records it has broken and the stimulation it has brought to the economy of each city, Swift’s “Eras Tour” is undoubtedly the most monumental tour the world has experienced ever.
