Phenomenal Portugal

By Isabel Kikoshima

The beautiful country of Portugal has many places to visit. A sister city to the Bay Area’s own San Francisco—Lisbon, Portugal—has various landmarks to visit. For instance, the city has a copper red bridge that looks identical to the Golden Gate Bridge. In the south of Lisbon, you can visit the Setubal Peninsula, where you can find beaches and coves for swimming. Another place to stop at is the Belem Tower, a medieval defense tower, located right on the river. Moreover, you can visit a historical hillside town at Sintra. There are century-old castles, gardens, and mansions that can be seen at this majestic city. Another hotspot for tourists is the village of Obidos, where festivals and medieval fairs are held. When these events aren’t happening, there is still the beautiful architecture and stone-cobbled streets to enjoy while  you visit.
