As millions of fans await their turn to watch Taylor Swift’s magical three hour long performance, freshman Mia Keller has gotten an early chance to see this once-in-a-lifetime experience. After traveling all the way to Las Vegas to see Swift’s second show, Mia provides some insight into what other Swifties can expect once their time to watch the shown comes.
When did you see the concert?
I saw Taylor Swift on March 25, 2023 at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
What was your favorite moment/fan interaction at the concert?
There were so many moments where she would stop to talk to us, so I don’t think I can pick just one favorite. One of the most memorable moments for me was probably when she was about to sing the bridge of Cruel Summer and told the whole stadium to sing it “very loudly”. Every single person was singing.
What was the special song performed at your concert?
She brought out Marcus Mumford and they sang Cowboy like Me and after that she sang White Horse by herself.
Did the concert meet your expectations?
It exceeded my expectations!
Did you plan a special outfit to wear?
Yes I did! I wore a pink skirt, a white top, and a jean jacket painted rainbow with lyrics on it. I also drew a heart around my eye, like she has on the album cover.
Do you have any advice for people seeing Taylor later this year?
Getting in and out of the stadium is a nightmare. We left our hotel at 4:30 and we took an Uber. We got there early enough to eat dinner and watch the openers. However, if you are planning to buy merch, trade friendship bracelets, and eat dinner all on the same day before the show starts, I recommend getting to the stadium much earlier than we did. People were getting there at noon, hours before the doors actually opened, which I personally think was too early. If you are planning to get merch, get there a couple of hours early. I waited five hours for my hoodie and poster. Luckily, I bought my merch the day before. If you aren’t buying merch, you don’t have to get there that early. Just get there when the doors open and you should be fine. Getting out of the stadium was the worst. The show ended around 11:15, but we didn’t actually get back to the hotel until after midnight because there were a lot of people waiting for Ubers. There is no good way to avoid this, just be patient!
