Chris Stapleton is an American country singer who grew up in Lexington, Kentucky. He attended Vanderbilt University, where he studied engineering, but dropped out after only a year. In 2001, Stapleton moved to Nashville, Tennessee, to pursue a music career. As a songwriter, he first signed with Sea Gayle Music and quickly rose to fame following the release of his debut album, “Traveller,” in May 2015. The album encountered many positive reviews and helped Stapleton win multiple awards, including Album of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, and New Artist of the Year at the 2015 CMAs. Later, in 2017, Stapleton released the album From A Room, which was divided into two parts, both of which won many awards. Stapleton returned in 2020 with the album Starting Over, which is my personal favorite. Some of my favorite Chris Stapleton songs include “You Should Probably Leave,” “Tennessee Whiskey,” “Millionaire,” and “Starting Over.” Listening to these songs takes me back to his concert in July, which was an unforgettable experience. I think his voice sounds the best live, which you can’t say about many singers. I am hoping to experience another Chris Stapleton concert like the one I was at, but I think that will be very hard to beat. If you like a blend of country, classic rock, and southern soul, I would recommend listening to Chris Stapleton’s music.
