Led by co-presidents Amelia Lipcsei and Isabel Kikoshima, Women in STEM provides an opportunity for women to learn more about STEM related fields. The amazing Anupama Tandon, who advises the club, commented during one of the meetings, “Our advanced STEM classes [like AP Physics] are composed of mainly men, with only two or three women.” This club fosters inclusivity and also wants to start giving resources outside of the Westmont community. Going on visits to local middle schools such as Rolling Hills and EDS, Women in STEM hopes to promote a better understanding and mindset for girls interested in pursuing STEM related careers. Anyone who wishes to join can visit Women in STEM in room 65 every other Thursday!
