My Heart

By Nupur Kudapkar

you hold my heart

in the palms of your hands

ever so delicately

grace and beauty accompanies you

making sure that

it still beats a rhythmic pattern

while shielding it from the pain

of being alive

yet keeping it

protected

and

healed

from all those

who have dropped it before you

as you hold my prized possession

i hope you know

my heart

chose to love again

just for you

so while it sings and prances

through the fields of flowers

holding your hand into the unknown

i say, as a reminder:

  • i am a loon in love, please never leave (to M.L. – eight months)
