Picture this: you’re in a hurry to get to school but you still need that extra accessory to make your outfit pop. What do you do? Do you spend the extra 30 seconds to put on your earrings? Of course not! You shove fashionable accessories in your pocket and put them on in the car. Obviously, after putting on your socks and your shoes.
I swear by this method of getting ready in the morning because it saves me that much more time. Sometimes, just sometimes though, I’ll even get a random boost of serotonin when I find one of my once lost earrings. Just another reason to keep my jewelry in my pocket!
However, my genius method of morning preparation has a devastating, fatal flaw. Without a doubt, I have lost some earrings…and rings…and necklaces…and bracelets in the long battle that is getting ready in the morning. Oh, how I miss my pretty ornaments that I once wore!
To overcome my grief, it would only be appropriate to send off my beloved long lost jewelry one last time with a short eulogy:
To the jewelry that kept me fashionable,
I miss you dearly,
for the color and pop you added to my outfits,
for sacrifice I made to obtain you — only god knows how much I’ve spent on you,
for the interesting conversations I’ve had about you,
for being alongside me when I made memories,
the good, the bad, the ugly,
for always being there,
even if it was only by the counter.
I’ll miss you dearly.
May you be forever blissful,
wherever you are,
not in my pocket,
but the place for all lost things,
amongst the other jewelry that I have lost.
