Founded in 1945 in California, Baskin Robbins continues to attract customers with 31 different flavors. Brothers-in-law Burt Baskin and Irv Baskin, the beloved founders, came up with the unique concept of 31 flavors–which is meant to represent a different flavor each day for a month. Hidden in the logo of Baskin Robbins–or BR–there is the number 31 in order to further demonstrate this special ice cream concept. As a new(ish) worker for Baskin Robbins, I can confidently say my sweet tooth is back as I have become somewhat of an ice cream connoisseur.
From fruity Cherries Jubilee to carmelly Gold Metal Ribbon, Baskin Robbins offers a variety of flavors for any sort of craving. The basics such as Chocolate, Strawberry, and Cookie Dough are always a safe bet but it never hurts to spice it up with Chocolate Fudge, Strawberry Cheesecake, and Pralines and Cream. My personal favorite would have to be Pralines and Cream or Jamoca, or any other coffee flavor such as Oreo N’ Cold Brew. Granted, I haven’t tried all 31 flavors yet, but I’m working up to it strictly to further delve into the knowledge of ice cream.
Next, the most important question asked by a worker: “cup or cone?” I’ve noticed a majority of people would prefer cups over cones, assumingly because they’re on the go and it’s just more convenient. But the daily fresh made waffle cones are an absolute must. With my experience making waffle cones, the smell, warmth, and crunch is irresistible and pairs perfectly with any flavored ice cream.
Not only does Baskin Robbins offer a plethora of ice cream flavors, but they also have different toppings and beverages to enliven your ice cream. Whether you’re Brownie Sundae obsessed or a Banana Royale lover, Baskin Robbins has toppings ranging from chocolate fudge to a perfect cherry on top. Beverages such as Milkshakes and Cappuccino Blasts also enlightens any flavor of ice cream, also allowing for an alternative to just eating ice cream. Baskin Robbins even recently came out with ice cream boba! Woah! Who would’ve thought?!
Along with new ice cream innovations came innovations to the logo…unfortunately. Justice for the childish theme of Baskin Robbins as a more modern look takes over: brown and pink, and most unbelievably, plain boring! Despite the modernization of the logo, Baskin Robbins has never missed as any flavor ice cream, topping, or beverage always hits the spot.
